What's possible

Your skin. Your body.
Your 12-minute ritual.

Red light wellness isn't a trend — it's one of the most researched light-based therapies available. Here's what people are actually using it for.

What people use it for

How red light wellness may support you

Five targeted wavelengths. Full-body exposure. 10–12 minutes. Individual experiences vary.

Skin Wellness & Glow

Red light — 633nm & 660nm

Red light is commonly used in skin wellness routines to support tone, texture, and a healthy-looking glow. Many people incorporate it as a complement to their existing skincare routine. Individual experiences vary, and results build with consistency over time.

Body Wellness & Circulation Support

Near-infrared — 850nm & 940nm

Near-infrared light is associated with improved circulation and cellular energy support. Many people use it as part of a body wellness routine alongside an active lifestyle. Red Life is a wellness service — individual experiences vary.

Skin Texture & Tone

Red & near-infrared — 660nm & 810nm

Red light may support the appearance of skin texture and tone with consistent use. Many people use it as part of a broader skin wellness routine. Individual experiences vary.

Relaxation & Mood Support

All wavelengths — full body

Many people use red light sessions as a quiet reset — 10–12 minutes to pause, breathe, and support a calmer routine. The warm, enveloping light creates a genuinely relaxing environment. Individual experiences vary.

Wind-Down & Rest Support

Near-infrared — 810nm, 850nm & 940nm

Evening sessions are popular for their relaxing quality. Red light may fit well into a wind-down routine, helping create a calm transition into the rest of your day or night. Individual experiences vary.

Movement & Active Recovery

Near-infrared — 850nm & 940nm

Commonly used as part of a recovery routine by those who train, run, do yoga, or stay active. Near-infrared light is associated with general muscle and joint comfort and movement support. Individual experiences vary.

Results come with consistency

Like skincare, fitness, or nutrition — the most meaningful effects from red light wellness come with regular, consistent use. A single session is relaxing and enjoyable, but any benefits build over weeks of consistent use.

Many people start with 2–3 sessions per week. Red Life's session packs and the Red Life 12 Membership make it easy to build a routine that fits your schedule and your goals.

There's no one-size-fits-all protocol. Use Red Life in whatever way works best for you — individual experiences vary.

The science

How does it actually work?

Red and near-infrared light wavelengths are absorbed by cells in the skin and underlying tissue. Unlike UV light, they don't damage the skin — they interact with mitochondria (the energy-producing structures in your cells), which may support the body's natural wellness processes. The M6N Black delivers five specific wavelengths, each chosen for a distinct penetration depth and wellness application.

Red Light — 633nm

Surface skin layer. Supports collagen production, skin tone, and texture.

Red Light — 660nm

Slightly deeper into the dermis. Supports skin cell renewal and circulation.

Near-Infrared — 810nm

Into muscle and connective tissue. Supports recovery and deep circulation.

Near-Infrared — 850nm

The most widely studied NIR wavelength — joints, deep muscle, recovery.

Near-Infrared — 940nm

Deepest-penetrating — supports whole-body cellular energy and deep tissue wellness.

The mitochondria connection

All five wavelengths interact with mitochondria — the energy-producing structures in every cell. When mitochondria absorb this light, they may produce more ATP (cellular energy) — which is thought to underpin many of the wellness benefits people associate with consistent red light use. Individual experiences vary.

Red Light vs. Near-Infrared Light

Red Light — 633nm & 660nm

Works closer to the surface and is commonly associated with skin wellness, tone, and a healthy-looking glow.

Near-Infrared — 810nm, 850nm & 940nm

Penetrates deeper and is commonly used in recovery, movement support, and whole-body wellness routines.

The M6N Black combines both in a single full-body session — no UV and no tanning.

Good to know before you book

Red Life is a wellness studio, not a medical clinic. Here's what that means in practice:

Sessions are not a replacement for medical care, physiotherapy, or professional healthcare

Red Life does not diagnose or treat any disease or medical condition

The M6N uses only red and near-infrared light — no UV, no tanning effect

Sessions may not be suitable for everyone — a brief suitability screening is part of the booking process
